Phantom Blade Zero comes from S-GAME (Beijing Lingyoufang) — the studio behind Rainblood and the Phantom Blade mobile games. Quick profile.

Two warriors clash in Phantom Blade Zero
The studio's whole history leads here: blades, rain, and a grudge.

S-GAME (Beijing Lingyoufang Software Technology) makes Phantom Blade Zero — the same studio that created the Rainblood single-player classics and the Phantom Blade mobile line, with founder Soulframe Liang directing.

The one-paragraph profile

S-GAME began as a boutique indie workshop whose Rainblood RPGs became cult classics of Chinese wuxia gaming. Its mobile-era Phantom Blade titles scaled the brand globally. Phantom Blade Zero merges the two eras: the dark, story-first single-player soul of Rainblood, built with the production scale the mobile years paid for, on Unreal Engine 5.

A studio that shows its work

S-GAME's marketing rhythm has been unusually transparent: uncut, unedited boss-battle recordings; demo booths at Summer Game Fest, Gamescom and ChinaJoy; a public "development complete" announcement two and a half months before launch; and behind-the-scenes features like the Donnie Yen motion-capture sessions. That openness built the goodwill the game now carries into launch.
