Phantom Blade Zero vs Phantom Blade 0 — the English title on PlayStation and Steam, and how it connects to the Rainblood series name.

The stylized logo reads Phantom Blade 0 — the zero doubles as a slashed blade.

On the PlayStation Showcase reveal and across all storefronts, the game appears under the English title Phantom Blade 0, with the numeral zero standing in for the word "Zero." The Steam listing uses the full spelled-out form — Phantom Blade Zero — and both refer to the same game. Store pages, the official site and press materials use the two forms interchangeably, so searches for either name will land on the same coverage.

What the name means

The "Phantom Blade" brand is the international name for S-GAME's wuxia universe. Earlier mobile entries such as Phantom Blade: Executioners share the brand but not the story. The zero in the title signals a return to the beginning: the game is a reboot of the original Rainblood: Town of Death storyline, rebuilt for a global console and PC audience.

The Chinese name

In Chinese the game is called Ying Zhi Ling (literally "Blade of Shadows: Zero"). The characters appear in the game's calligraphy logo, which is itself a piece of the visual identity: hand-brushed strokes over dark, rain-soaked key art.

One thing to watch when searching

Because the zero and the word "zero" are both used, fan sites and news posts split across the two spellings. For store pages use Phantom Blade Zero; for quick searches either works. And if you see older 2023-2024 posts calling it "the new Rainblood game," they mean this same title — see our guide to the Rainblood connection for the full lineage.
