Sony confirmed PS5 console exclusivity for a year minimum, with PS5 Pro enhancement — Xbox and Switch 2 versions only possible after that window.

PS5 first, PC same day, everything else: wait a year.

PlayStation's August 12 information wave put the platform question to rest: Phantom Blade Zero is a PS5 console limited-time exclusive, launching day-and-date on PC, with at least 12 months before any Xbox or Switch 2 version could appear.

What the exclusivity covers

  • PS5 launches October 29, 2026 as the only console version
  • PC (Steam, Epic, WeGame) arrives the same day — this is console exclusivity, not platform exclusivity
  • Xbox / Switch 2: possible only after the exclusivity window expires — nothing announced, no commitments made either way

PS5 Pro gets real enhancement

Sony also confirmed PS5 Pro-specific performance enhancement — better image quality and frame rate on the enhanced console. Reporting around the announcement pegged the target at 4K/60 in a high-quality mode, which would make the Pro the reference way to play for the launch window.

Reading the strategy

For S-GAME, the deal buys Sony's marketing machinery — a dedicated State of Play, showcase placement, storefront featuring — during the exact months a Chinese AAA needs global visibility. For players, the only real cost is platform patience: PC players get the same game day one, and the PC spec sheet is friendlier than most UE5 releases. Console-agnostic players can see every platform option in platforms.
